About this event
Madrid hands its grandest avenue over to the Americas for an afternoon. The Hispanidad parade rolls down Gran Vía with companies, dancers and musicians from more than twenty Spanish-speaking countries, opening the region's biggest autumn festival. Pick a kerb early near Plaza de España or Callao, because the street fills fast and the whole thing is watched from the pavement rather than from a seat.
Why we picked it
The biggest free street spectacle in Madrid's October calendar, and the opening act of a 200-event festival.
Free entry
Comunidad de Madrid's own festival page labels it "Actividad gratuita". Open-air street event watched from the public pavement.
