About this event
The Quarteto Lopes-Graça joins Mozambican percussionist Aldovino Munguambe for a programme built from Dumisani Maraire, Justinian Tamusuza, Kevin Volans and Mokale Koapeng, closing with Estêvão Chissano's E-Terno Retorno. The point, deliberately made, is that there is no single African music: the hour moves between schools, countries and compositional approaches, with string quartet and rhythmic pulse arguing productively in an Alcântara library.
