About this event
The pauliteiros are stick dancers from Miranda do Douro in Portugal's far north-east, where Mirandese is still spoken as a second official language. Their young troupe brings the rhythm, the sticks and the language to the square outside the Centro Cultural de Belém, in the open air and free to watch. It is one of the oldest surviving dance traditions in Iberia.
