The Cantábile festival puts Holst and Schubert inside the Convento dos Cardaes, a seventeenth-century Carmelite house off Rua do Século whose chapel is lined with Dutch tiles and gilt woodwork. Programmed with the Misericórdia parish council, which is why it costs nothing.
