About this event
A concert for the 150th birthday of soprano Aino Ackté, a unique star of Finnish culture. She inspired Merikanto, Sibelius and Madetoja to write for her, Richard Strauss called her 'the only Salome', and she founded both the Finnish Opera (now the Finnish National Opera) and the Savonlinna Opera Festival. The programme features songs and roles associated with her.
