About this event
Finland's oldest continuously held event brings fishing boats straight onto the Market Square for a week: barrels of pickled and smoked Baltic herring, archipelago bread, blackcurrant jam and the annual competition for the best herring. Wandering the quayside stalls costs nothing, and the harbour in early October is the whole point.
