About this event
Pianist Iivari Aalto builds a recital around the link between music and dance, drawing on two Polish composers: Chopin's sunlit Barcarolle beside the lightness of Grażyna Bacewicz's Children's Suite, before the second half turns the dance into something more relentless and devilish. Part of Vuotalo's Grand Piano Month, and free to attend.
Why we picked it
A properly programmed classical recital, free, with Bacewicz given equal billing to Chopin rather than treated as a curiosity.
