About this event
Whales are the largest animals ever to have lived and were hunted almost to extinction as floating oil depots. Researchers could once only study them in the seconds they surfaced, or dissect the dead and guess. Drones and suction-cup tags have changed that, and this lecture reports what the new data shows about how whales hunt and why ocean ecosystems depend on them as apex predators.
