Ancient historian Martin Zimmermann talks with archaeologist Hermann Parzinger about his new book on ruined cities of antiquity - Troy, Mycenae, Nineveh, Pompeii. His argument is that the nostalgia modern visitors bring to ruins is a modern invention, and that the more interesting view of these places is the one ancient people held themselves.
