About this event
Anton Zimmermann, born in Silesia, was central to Pressburg's musical life in the 1770s and court composer to the Archbishop of Esztergom — two of his symphonies were long attributed to Haydn. The Zimmermann Ensemble sets his keyboard chamber music beside Haydn's, letting you hear exactly why the confusion lasted so long.
Why we picked it
Period chamber music with a real argument behind the programming, performed by the ensemble named for its subject.
