About this event
Every weekend from late April to October, Bucharest closes Calea Victoriei to traffic and hands it to people — and 2026 extends the route down Strada Ion Brezoianu near Cișmigiu for the first time. Each weekend carries its own theme, with theatre and dance, concerts, parades, children's workshops, flashmobs, sport and guided tours programmed by ARCUB with independent artists and cultural institutions.
Why we picked it
Bucharest's grandest street given over to pedestrians for twelve hours a day, every weekend, with a free programme on top — the city's defining weekend habit.
Free entry
Access to the Open Streets activities is stated to be free; note that museums along the route (e.g. Casa Filipescu-Cesianu) still charge their own admission.
