About this event

Art historian Alba Vendrell i Torres takes a walk through the Barri Gòtic to separate what is genuinely Gothic from what was invented in the early twentieth century, when the city reconstructed a supposed medieval golden age with one eye on tourism. It is a route about how the Barcelona brand was built, led by someone who knows which stones are real. In Catalan, run with Tot Història Associació Cultural.

Why we picked it

A historian explaining which parts of Barcelona's most-photographed quarter are a twentieth-century invention.
