For September only, the National Ethnographic Museum throws open its halls in the old Royal Palace free of charge on weekend mornings. Bulgarian costume, ritual masks and folk craft in a building on the main square — two hours is about right, and the 10:00 opening means you get the rooms almost to yourself.
