Free weekend kayaking continues into September on the Hudson, with volunteers running short supervised paddles from the boathouse dock. The buoyed area keeps beginners well clear of traffic, and the whole thing is funded by donations rather than fees. Swimming ability and a signed waiver are the only requirements.
