Capdepera launches its patron-saint week with the full traditional apparatus: capgrossos and giants parading, a batucada drumming section behind them, the town band, and the pregó opening address to finish. This is the moment the fiestas formally begin, and the streets around Plaça Orient fill accordingly. Free, and far more atmospheric than any single concert on the programme.
