About this event
On the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, thousands gather on Piłsudski Square to sing insurgent and occupation-era songs together — 'Warszawianka', 'Marsz Mokotowa', 'Sanitariuszka Małgorzatka' among them — accompanied by orchestra and choir under Bartłomiej Wąsik. Songbooks are handed out so newcomers can join in. Begun in 2006, this jubilee 20th edition is now among the most recognisable rituals of the city's commemorations.
