The after-work slot, and the better one. Just under two hours of paddling in the Pier 26 embayment as the sun drops behind New Jersey and the river turns the colour of the skyline. Boats, buoyancy aids and volunteer guidance are all provided free of charge. The weeknight season closes on 27 August, so the window is short.
