Every Friday evening the Whitney drops its admission price to zero and stays open until 10pm — five unhurried hours to roam the Meatpacking District landmark's daylight-flooded galleries and its stacked outdoor terraces as the sun goes down over the Hudson. Renzo Piano's building offers some of the best free views in downtown Manhattan, and the ground floor is always open ticket-free.
