Michael Curtiz directs Elvis Presley in the New Orleans-set drama widely reckoned to be Presley's strongest screen performance. It is the classic-Hollywood slot in this year's Bryant Park line-up and tends to draw a slightly gentler crowd than the blockbusters. Lawn opens at 5pm, film at 8pm; picnics encouraged, with food stalls and a bar on site from late afternoon.
