The gentler opening day of Europe's largest street celebration, given over to families. An official opening ceremony on Great Western Road at 10:00 leads into the Children's Day parade, with costumed young masqueraders, steel pan and Caribbean food stalls lining the route through west London. A J'Ouvert celebration starts earlier, at 06:00.
