The century-old Batalla de Flores closes Valencia's Gran Feria de Julio in spectacular fashion: elaborately decorated floats parade down the Alameda while performers and spectators hurl an estimated 1.2 million carnations in a joyous flower fight. A vivid, quintessentially Valencian tradition, it is free to watch from the public sections along the route.
